Thou shalt spritz Dermot O’Leary’s new fragrance...

Few things are as quintessentially British as Marks and Spencer; we squealed for joy when Percy Pig got married (Harry and Meghan who?) and what childhood birthday party would be complete without a delicious visit from Collin the Caterpillar? Another true British institute is Dermot O’Leary, wether he’s in our homes via radio waves and his insanely listenable Radio 2 show or the T.V screen demonstrating why he is king of Saturday night tv, he has become just as integral to British culture as his delicious fictitious counterparts. So we were delighted to be invited to have breakfast and a spin with the man himself to launch the scent. Turns out Dermot is a huge fan of Psycle, he tells us over smoothies after we have just done our first class & silently praying the feeling in our legs will return. After our inaugural Psycle ride we had breakfast and got the first sniff of the new fragrance. For the synical out there this isn’t a self indulgent fragrance launch to satisfy an ego because Dermot simply doesn’t have one, its essentially Dermot curating a fragrance he would like to wear himself and hoping some other guys may want to wear it too. At first Spritz we knew it had bagged a spot on our fragrance shelf. Priced at £22 for a 100ml you’d be hard pushed to find anything close to the complexity and quality of this fragrance at his price point. Its reminiscent of Creed Silver Mountain Water but at a fraction of the price. High end fragrance fans shouldn’t be put offby the reasonable price, Derm’ more than holds his own against Tom Ford and the big boys of fragrance. Regular readers of this site will know our passion for cruelty free cosmetics, so it’s important to note as with all Marks and Spencer’s cosmetics this fragrance is cruelty free, that’s something the big boys of fragrance can’t rival Dermot on. So if you are on the look out for a summer scent we really would recommend Dermot O’Leary and his Earl Grey and Sandalwood. And at £22 you may even have change for a bag of Percy Pigs and a Collin the Caterpillar. Buy it here.
